Joe protected our families in Galveston County for over 40 years as a Peace Officer before he was elected as County Commissioner. Now Joe’s protecting our wallets by cutting tax rates and protecting our homes by investing in road & drainage projects in our communities.
Born and raised in Galveston County, Joe worked for the Galveston Police Department for over 35 years before retiring and going to work for Constable Jimmy Fullen in Santa Fe. He continues to be one of the strongest law enforcement advocates in the county and still holds an active commission in the Precinct 2 Constable’s Office as a Reserve Deputy.
Joe is deeply involved in the community and gives back in as many ways as he can. He is a member of the Lighthouse Charity Team and serves as Co-Director of their Emergency Response Division. Joe is a Freemason with memberships in the Tucker Lodge in Galveston and Serenity Lodge in Santa Fe. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Family Service Center along with being a former Chairman of the Bay Area Boy Scouts and Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce.
In recognition for his service to the community, Joe was named ‘Officer of the Year’ by the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas, ‘Deputy Constable of the Year’ by the 50 Club of Galveston County, and ‘Man of the Year’ by the Hichock Chamber of Commerce and Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce.
